Travel Nurse RN - Long Term Acute Care - $1,889 per week

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN Long Term Acute Care for a travel nursing job in Chicago, Illinois. Job Description & Requirements We're looking for Registered Nurses (RNs) for an immediate travel opening in an LTAC (Long-Term Acute Care) facility in Chicago, IL. The right RN should have at least 1 year of recent experience in a Long-Term Acute Care or similar high acuity setting. Read below for more requirements. As an RN in LTAC, you will care for patients with serious medical conditions who require extended hospital-level care. These patients often have complex needs such as ventilator support, wound care, or post-ICU recovery. You will be responsible for providing direct nursing care, monitoring patients' conditions, and collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to support patient recovery and discharge planning. Responsibilities Perform head-to-toe assessments and respond promptly to changes in patient condition Administer IV medications, manage central lines, and monitor vital signs and lab results Provide ventilator and tracheostomy care, as well as advanced wound management Collaborate with respiratory therapists, physicians, and case managers for ongoing treatment plans Support patients with mobility, hygiene, and nutritional needs Supervise LPNs and CNAs, ensuring proper patient care delivery Adhere to strict infection control protocols and facility safety standards Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and communicate patient status updates Document all care activities and interventions accurately and in real time Assist with admissions, transfers, and discharge planning Requirements ACLS, BLS, 2 Years* Additional certifications may be required before beginning an assignment.
