Technical Mastery: deep knowledge of organic, inorganic, analytical, or physical chemistry principles and reaction mechanisms. Safety & Compliance: a thorough understanding of chemical safety protocols (SDS), GHS standards, and regulatory requirements (EPA, REACH, FDA). Analytical Precision: the ability to identify errors in complex IUPAC nomenclature, stoichiometry, molecular geometry, and thermodynamic calculations. Communication: ability to explain intricate reaction pathways or molecular interactions in clear, technically accurate language. Fact-Check Reactions & Formulas: validate AI-generated chemical reactions, balancing equations, and ensuring proposed synthetic routes are viable and safe. Audit Technical Documentation: review model-generated lab protocols, safety summaries, and spectral interpretations (NMR, IR, Mass Spec) for accuracy. Annotate Molecular Data: identify and correct errors in SMILES strings, 2D/3D molecular representations, and property predictions. Safety Monitoring: ensure AI outputs do not provide instructions for the synthesis of hazardous, illicit, or restricted substances.
