Contract | Night Shift | 12-Hour Shifts | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a high-volume, Level 1 Trauma Emergency Department serving patients ranging from newborns to elderly with a wide variety of acuity levels
• Manage and titrate a variety of drips including vasopressors, cardiac drips, and antihypertensive medications
• Recognize and respond to life-threatening cardiac rhythms using Phillips monitoring equipment
• Draw and collect laboratory specimens as needed; collaborate with ED techs and other support staff
• Care for stabilized trauma patients transferred from the trauma bay to a pod setting; trauma bay primary nurse role is not expected of travelers
• Adhere to every-other-weekend rotation and holiday requirements as determined by department scheduling needs

Required Qualifications

• Active Illinois RN license (or confirmation that the application process has been initiated)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Current ENPC or PALS certification
• Current TNCC or TNS certification
• Ability to interpret cardiac rhythms and respond appropriately in an emergency setting
• Compliance with a drug-free workplace policy; must produce a negative drug screen for all panels

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Minimum of 2 years of RN experience with at least one prior travel assignment
• SANE RN experience
• Prior experience working in a teaching hospital with residents
• Proficiency with vasopressor and cardiac drip titration in a critical care or emergency setting
