The program also focuses on developing versatile future leaders with cross-functional business acumen and leadership skills. You will assist in performing financial and non-financial analysis and make recommendations consistent with Guardian’s goals regarding growth and profitability. As part of ALDP, expect to rotate departments every 18 to 24 months, providing the opportunity for a breadth of experience.You areA self-starter who is fueled by collaboration, able to transform conceptual thinking into executable insights, who thrives in diving into business problems and using data to make decisions.You haveRequired Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in a mathematics-based fieldRegularly taking actuarial exams to pursue the Actuarial Fellow designation in the Society of ActuariesA minimum of two years of prior work experience in the actuarial fieldProficient in MS Excel as well as experience in using actuarial modeling / data visualization softwareAbility to communicate pricing analyses to technical and non-technical audiencesAbility to contribute to multiple projects with multiple deliverables simultaneouslyStrong analytical and technical skills with the ability to synthesize sophisticated informationPreferred Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in actuarial scienceActuarial Associate designation in the Society of Actuaries3-5 years of prior work experience in the actuarial fieldAn understanding of group pricing practices including the use of experiencePrior work experience in Group Pricing, particularly Disability coverageYou willUtilize internal and external data sources to better understand industry trends, clients, competitors, and the regulatory environmentComplete assignments on time and according to specifications provided by your supervisor as independently as possible, recognizing situations where managerial guidance is neededExecute rate development and state rate filings that support the strategic goals set forth by the Group Finance Strategy TeamProvide actuarial support for product, underwriting, finance, and distribution initiatives impacting pricing models and resulting ratesRecommend and actively support the use of new and advanced techniques to modernize the pricing approach and improve accuracyReporting RelationshipsAs our Actuarial Associate, you will report to our Head of Disability Pricing, who reports to our Head of Group Benefit Pricing & Analytics.Location Hybrid - 3 days in office located in Bethlehem, PA; Hudson Yards, NYC; Holmdel NJ, Stamford, CT; Pittsfield MA or Boston MA. 2 days WFH.Salary Range:$79,310.00 - $130,295.00The salary range reflected above is a good faith estimate of base pay for the primary location of the position. The salary for this position ultimately will be determined based on the education, experience, knowledge, and abilities of the successful candidate.
