Job Description:

In a fast moving and increasingly complex world, L3Harris is anticipating and rapidly responding to challenges with agile technology – creating a safer and more secure future . L3Harris is seeking a dynamic Designer/Drafter who will design and manufacture electronic data acquisition systems for use in Anti-Submarine Warfare, ship self-defense, acoustic ranges and geophysical exploration products. They utilize CAD software to create blueprints, perform simulations to ensure safety and efficiency, and oversee production to meet project specifications.  

Essential Functions:

• Create and edit CAD models/files, engineering drawings and documents to ensure correct fit, interchangeability, application of geometric tolerances and conform to company and industry drawing standards.
• Ensure that engineering drawings and documents are complete and are properly logged into the company’s data repository.
• Materials, finishes, and workmanship callouts in accordance with industry specifications.
• Design of mechanical parts, components & assemblies, including electromechanical components.
• Ensure that assigned project tasks meet technical and schedule requirements. Identify problems and recommend work around plans and alternatives.
• Implement check and balance procedures to monitor, review and evaluate design activities performed to assure conformance with customer requirements, company standards and sound engineering practices.
• Demonstrates strong computer skills and proficiency in using engineering CAD tools (SolidWorks preferred).
• Able to excel in a fast paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Displays strong initiative and drive to accomplish goals and meet company objectives.
• Highly self-motivated, organized and detail oriented.
• Promote cordial relationships and foster and maintain a favorable business profile with customers, suppliers, co-workers, industry and professional associations, government agencies and the local community
• Ability to travel 5%-10%.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a US Secret security clearance.
