Accountant

Support the Accounting team based in New Haven, Connecticut, reporting directly to the Director of Shared Services Support multiple companies across a diverse business portfolio Ensure the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of financial records and reporting Perform daily accounting operations and month-end/quarter-end close activities Prepare journal entries and perform account reconciliations Conduct financial analysis and maintain the general ledger in accordance with GAAP standards Support Fixed Assets, Leases, Sales Tax, and Accounts Payable functions Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve issues Strengthen internal controls and drive process improvements Requirements Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field 1–3 years of professional accounting or finance experience Advanced Excel skills, including VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, and macros Strong written and verbal English communication skills Experience working with financial systems and data analysis tools Knowledge of Power BI, Business Objects, JD Edwards, Oracle SmartView/Hyperion, or OneStream is considered a plus Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and highly organized Core Competencies Demonstrates expertise in accounting principles, financial reporting, and compliance with GAAP standards, while effectively managing multiple priorities and collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance internal controls and process improvements.
