Job Description
Registered Nurse (RN) - Operating Room/Surgery Shift Information Schedule: Monday to Friday, 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM Job Summary The Registered Nurse in the Operating Room/Surgery will provide both routine and complex care while effectively managing clinical situations. This role requires the nurse to work independently while maintaining awareness of all relevant aspects of patient care. The nurse will collaborate with other healthcare providers to ensure optimal patient outcomes and participate in long-range planning and goal setting. Responsibilities
- Demonstrate adherence to clinical competencies, including the roles of Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
- Provide nursing care following the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients.
- Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families in accordance with their individual level of care.
- Administer medications and treatments in accordance with established protocols, monitoring for side effects and effectiveness.
- Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided accurately and thoroughly.
- Assess learning needs and deliver education to patients, family members, and caregivers while identifying issues and available resources.
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing is preferred.
- A minimum of one year of experience in the relevant nursing specialty is preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required (American Heart Association only).
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Texas or compact license.
