About the Position

Job Title: RN Telemetry I Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days/Eves/Nights Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: 2 years of acute care hospital experience; 2 years working as a Traveler License: Active RN License Certifications: AHA BLS, ACLS Must-Have: Must be willing to float to different units Description: This position involves floating throughout the hospital to various telemetry units. Responsibilities include cardiac monitoring and administering cardiac drips. Candidates should be proficient in reading telemetry strips and measuring intervals every 4 hours. The clinician to patient ratio is up to 5:1 during days and evenings, and up to 6:1 during nights. The patient population includes care for ED border patients, medication administration in the acute mental health unit, and care for transfer-ready non-vented patients from the ICU. Experience with TR Band is preferred. Candidates must be able to perform cardiac drips and interpret telemetry strips accurately. The electronic medical record (EMR) system used is EPIC. Rotation requirements include rotating between day/evening shifts and potentially nights.
