Senior Protection Engineer

Competitive Salary incl. bonus & other package featuresEngland West Midlands BirminghamPermanent Power Generation, T&D T&D How you'll make an impact: • Prepare functional design specifications and project scope documents • Prepare protection designs for production and manufacturing • Protection product selection, IED configurations, and protection IEC61850 engineering • Developing new protection solutions encompassing the full development cycle control (concept design to delivery) • Type registration and product approval – combining engineering and documentation • Provide technical support during the pre-FAT and FAT stages, handling installation and commissioning activities • Assist in preparing proposal/presentation of engineering projects/programs (provision of billsof materials, estimated engineering hours, etc.) • Commercial awareness and support project management in issuing claims (new/change in scopeof work, cost impact, time impact, risk quantifications, etc.) Your Background: • 5+ years within the electrical engineering sector, particularly the grid automation sector • Strong foundation in transmission of transmission (within the energy sector) • HND or a Degree in Electrical Engineering. • Membership (or working towards membership) of a relevant professional body, eg, CEng • Strong design capability and experience in the engineering discipline of Power Systems. • Project coordination and operates well within a team • Fluent in both spoken and written English, and good communication skillsWith over 90 years' combined experience, NES Fircroft (NES) is proud to be the world's leading engineering staffing provider spanning the Oil & Gas, Power & Renewables, Chemicals, Construction & Infrastructure, Life Sciences, Mining and Manufacturing sectors worldwide.
