System Engineer (OpenShift / Linux)Role Summary: We are looking for a highly skilled System Engineer to support and enhance enterprise infrastructure platforms in a client-facing environment. This role requires strong expertise in OpenShift Container Platform, and Linux Administration. The engineer will work closely with a distributed team of engineers, engage with client stakeholders on a daily basis, and serve as an on-call escalation engineer to ensure rapid resolution of critical issues and high service availability.Technical/Functional Skills Required Skills - • Strong hands-on experience with Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform (installation, upgrades, cluster administration, troubleshooting, and lifecycle management).• Strong experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) administration (build, patching, performance tuning, and troubleshooting in enterprise environments).• Solid understanding of Kubernetes architecture and core concepts (pods, deployments, networking, storage, RBAC).• Experience with automation and configuration management using shell scripting.• Experience supporting production environments, including change management, incident response, root cause analysis, and participation in on-call rotations.• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills; ability to work directly with clients and cross-functional engineering teams.Good to Have – • Experience developing and maintaining Ansible playbooks and automation frameworks.• Experience with CI/CD tools such as GitHub.• Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Nagios)• Understanding of security best practices, including system hardening, vulnerability management, and compliance frameworks.• Experience with Rundeck or similar orchestration toolsExperience Required - 5+ years of experience in System Engineering, Infrastructure Engineering, or Platform Engineering roles.Roles & Responsibilities • Design, build, configure, and maintain our on-premises OpenShift Container Platform clusters.• Design, build, configure, and maintain Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server infrastructure across on premises as well as Amazon AWS and Microsoft Azure environments.• Automate server build, configuration, and deployment processes using shell scripting and Ansible automation, ensuring standardization, repeatability, and reduced manual effort.• Develop, maintain, and enhance orchestration using Rundeck to support automated operational activities.• Act as an on-call escalation engineer on a rotational basis, providing after-hours support and ensuring faster resolution of high-severity incidents.• Perform advanced troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and performance tuning for OpenShift Container Platform and Red Hat Enterprise Linux.• Engage in daily client interactions, providing technical updates, participating in operational discussions, and supporting service reviews.• Collaborate closely with a team of engineers across infrastructure, cloud, security, and application domains to deliver reliable and scalable solutions.• Support change management activities, releases, and production deployments in alignment with client and organizational standards.• Create and maintain technical documentation, build standards, automation artifacts, and operational runbooks.• Continuously identify opportunities for automation, optimization, and service improvement to enhance platform stability and client satisfactionGeneric Managerial Skills Liaison with Customer IT & Business TeamGood Communication & Presentation SkillsEducation Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experienceWork Location (State, City and Zip) Anywhere in US; Willing to work in CST hoursAble to take off hour calls on rotation basis every 6 weeks.
