Behavioral Therapist

Job Location Mendota Heights - Saint Paul, MN 55120 Summary As a Behavioral Therapist, you will provide therapy to individuals ages 2-20 who are diagnosed with Autism or a related condition. Behavioral therapists will follow individual treatment plans to increase skill acquisition and decrease unwanted behaviors that are interfering with the individual’s functioning across a variety of settings. Behavioral therapists provide services in a variety of settings including, but not limited to center, home, community, and school. Job Responsibilities / Tasks Provide direct intervention to individuals following their individual treatment plans ensuring goals and objectives are being met. Document all therapeutic services accurately and timely (i.e. data collection, case notes, goal skill acquisition and parent summary reports). Follow individual behavior intervention plans using techniques including but not limited to redirection, extinction and follow through. Communicate daily progress and client information to supervisors. Assist clients with personal care including, but not limited to dressing, toileting, personal hygiene, feeding, meal preparation, and medication routines. Provide behavioral therapy under the supervision of the qualified supervising professional. Complete the required technical training and participate in ongoing training opportunities. Qualifications To be considered for the position, you must have at least 2,000 hours experience working with individuals diagnosed with ASD or related a condition AND meet one of the following requirements; Have a bachelor’s degree in a behavioral health, child development or related field including, but not limited to, mental health, special education, social work, psychology, speech pathology or occupational therapy. Have a doctoral or master’s degree in behavioral health, child development or related fields including, but not limited to, mental health, special education, social work, psychology, speech pathology or occupational therapy. Be a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) or Board Certified Behavior Analyst – Doctoral (BCBA-D). Be a Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst (BCaBA) with 4,000 hours of supervised clinical experience that meets all registration, supervision and continuing education requirements of the certification. Knowledge and experience with ABA services highly preferred. Ability to work with diverse populations required. Experiences working in an Autism Center a plus. Experience providing CTSS and EIDBI services a plus. Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills. Excellent organization skills and ability to prioritize workload. Ability to work within a dynamic and continuously changing healthcare environment. A desire to make a difference in someone’s life. Compassion. Physical Requirements Must be able to move from sitting (including from floor position) to standing quickly. Must be able to adjust or moving objects up to 25 pounds in all directions.
