Project Manager

Location: Houston, TX Scott Humphrey is partnering with a well-established and respected General Contractor to identify a Project Manager for their Houston office. As a Project Manager, you will play a key role in leading projects from preconstruction through closeout, ensuring successful delivery through effective budgeting, scheduling, subcontractor management, quality control, and client communication. They specialize in commercial interiors, tenant improvements, and building conversions, delivering projects typically ranging from $500K to $5M . Position Overview The Project Manager will be responsible for the overall success of assigned projects, including planning, budgeting, scheduling, quality assurance, and client satisfaction. This individual will collaborate closely with owners, architects, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget. Candidates who bring established industry relationships and business development capabilities are highly valued. Key Responsibilities Lead commercial construction projects from preconstruction through project closeout. Coordinate with project teams to ensure timely completion of project milestones and deliverables. Organize and lead meetings with clients, architects, consultants, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders. Manage contracts, change orders, RFIs, submittals, and project documentation. Monitor project budgets, costs, and schedules, providing regular updates to leadership. Oversee construction activities to ensure compliance with safety standards, project specifications, and contract requirements. Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and subcontractors. Identify and resolve potential project challenges before they impact cost or schedule. Assist with project closeout, punch lists, final documentation, and warranty turnover. Ideal Qualifications Experience managing commercial construction projects, preferably tenant improvements, interior build-outs, or renovation projects. Strong understanding of project budgeting, scheduling, and cost control. Excellent communication and relationship-building skills. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency with construction management software and Microsoft Office applications.
