Teachers may cover a variety of subject areas including American Literature & Composition, Anatomy & Physiology (with lab), Bible, Biology (with lab), English, Graphic Design, Health/Nutrition, Personal Finance, Philosophy, Beginning Spanish, Spanish 1 & 2, and US History. Qualifying Characteristics The candidate is a Christian with an authentic and mature personal relationship with Jesus Christ in both professional and personal life, with a calling and commitment to Christian education. Qualified candidates will support the School’s Mission while representing its Cultural Values. Education and Experience Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree. Two or more years of college required. Preferred: Previous teaching experience. Essential Skills and Abilities Design and implement lessons using an approved curriculum. Teach students using lectures, class discussions, collaborative in‑class labs, and other learning activities. Supervise the class to ensure all students are learning in a safe and productive environment. Assess student learning through participation, homework, quizzes, tests, lab experiments, lab reports, and research projects and presentations. Utilize Google Classroom to manage and communicate assignments, assign grades, and respond to student questions. Prepare lessons each week, plan ahead, and organize supplies and resources. Excellent oral and written command of the English language. Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to work with diverse staff, faculty, and students. Competence in educational technology (Word processing, online management software, etc.). Excellent organizational skills. Service‑oriented and able to interface with many people. Truthful, positive, and purposeful in communication. Flexible and adaptable to new or changing requirements. Ability to multitask in a distracting environment. Must pass a background investigation. Working Conditions Indoors in a temperature‑controlled classroom, free from dust and hazardous materials. Works in a group environment; noise level typically low outside class periods. Requires standing for long periods, frequent walking and sitting. Must evaluate student work visually and audibly. Physical demands: sit extended periods, repetitive hand movements, grip, fine and gross motor skills; stand, walk, bend, squat, kneel, push, pull, lift up to 20 lb, climb one flight of stairs. Mental demands: work well under pressure; maintain professionalism and calm when others behave inappropriately. Use of computer/monitor screen, projector, and other classroom equipment.
