This position reports to the Executive Director, Major Gifts and works closely and collaboratively with major gifts officers and the prospect management, development operations, stewardship, and annual giving teams. The individual who holds this position exemplifies the Rush mission, vision and values and acts in accordance with Rush policies and procedures.

• A bachelor's degree, ideally in a communications-related, marketing or fundraising major.
• Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, advanced knowledge of Excel, Power Point and Access.
• Experience with web-based content management systems and e-communications programs.
• Ability to effectively manage large amounts of data, mailing lists, and giving information.
• Excellent verbal, grammar, and spelling skills.
• Pro-active and resourceful nature.
• Commitment to quality and timeliness in all aspects of work.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
• Pride and ownership in work product.
• Most events take place on weekdays and weeknights; must be willing to work evening and occasionally weekend events.
• The individual must be team oriented, well organized and have the ability to handle and prioritize multiple projects, work independently, and be comfortable taking simultaneous and varied assignments from several individuals.
• A pleasant manner and excellent interpersonal skills when dealing with colleagues, supervisors, volunteers and donors is essential.
• Candidate should be self-motivated, reliable, sensitive to issues of confidentiality, detail oriented and flexible.

- Provide essential support to the major gift officers for the qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of major gifts.
- Work in partnership with front line fundraisers on pipeline development/solicitation strategies, assisting with prospect identification tactics.
- Conduct basic research and prospect identification tasks requested by gift officers.
- Draft correspondence to donors and prospects including acknowledgement letters and lead letters and provide writing/editing assistance for stewardship reports, proposals, and other communications as assigned.
- Assist with the preparation and distribution of monthly reports to key physician partners, researchers, and other internal stakeholders in assigned service lines.
- Responsible for scheduling meetings between gift officers and leadership throughout the institution; build and maintain collegial relationships with administrative staff in assigned service lines.
- Serve as the liaison for the gift transmittal process to the Development Operations team for major gifts received by team members. This includes preparing gift transmittal and modification documentation, gift back-up documentation, and new fund activity forms.
- Assist with the preparation and distribution of giving reports, prospect lists, and solicitation materials related to the team's fundraising activities. Work with the Development Operations team to create and run reports from Power BI and Advance databases to support these activities.
- Collaborate with the prospect management and events teams to assist with the preparation of post event data on attendees related to the team's events. Attend events occasionally and support gift officer activities during those events.
- Develop an understanding of current themes and Rush priorities to assist with the cultivation of major gift prospects
- Provide assistance to donors as requested.
- Other special project management as required.
- Perform various administrative duties including: copying, mailing, distributing, filing, and tracking correspondence, proposals, and other documents; answering telephones; and contributing to shared duties such as internal mail delivery and distribution, office-wide phone coverage and support of other development assistants/associates when necessary.
