Job Description
Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical

Schedule

Shift: 3x12, 06:45 - 19:15. Every other weekend required. On-call duty required.

Assignment Details

Contract length: 13-26 weeks. Floating required to similar units and alternate care locations.

Requirements

• BLS certification required.
• ONS Fundamentals of Chemotherapy and Immunotherapy Administration preferred; travelers must be willing to obtain certification prior to or during assignment.
• 2 years of experience required.
• First-time travelers accepted.
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start.
• Experience in an inpatient setting, including Med/Surg, colostomy care, and management of various medical equipment and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Caring for and monitoring patients receiving chemotherapy and biotherapy.
• Administering medications and managing IV infusions, including chemotherapy and supportive therapies.
• Providing wound care and managing surgical drains and chest tubes.
• Monitoring vital signs and patient status, responding to changes in condition.
• Documenting patient care accurately in the electronic medical record.
• Participating in multidisciplinary team meetings and collaborating with healthcare team members.
