Job Description
Medical/Surgical Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking a skilled Medical/Surgical Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. This role requires the ability to deliver quality patient care in a fast-paced environment, focusing on cardiac and stroke diagnoses.

Position Overview

Ratios: Day/Eve ratios are 5 to 1 (with potential to stretch to 6-7). Night ratios are expected to be 6-7 to 1 (with a possibility of stretching to 8-10 during staff shortages).
Experience Required: Minimum of 1 year.
Weekend Requirements: Every other weekend (EOW).
Certifications Required: Basic Life Support (BLS).
Floating Requirements: Candidates must be willing to float within scope to meet facility needs and may be required to float between similar units (MS, ICU, ED).
Block Schedule Accommodations: Attempts will be made but cannot be guaranteed.
Local Candidates: Not accepted (candidates must reside more than 75 miles away).
Pending Licenses: Not accepted.
RTO Restrictions: No holiday requests off; no more than 7 days of requested time off.

Responsibilities

Interpret and manage dysrhythmias effectively.
Utilize Rapid Response Teams as necessary.
Provide peripheral line care and management.
Administer nasal cannula and oxygen face masks, as well as manage portable oxygen tanks and non-invasive airway management.
Adhere to isolation precautions and procedures.
Conduct vital signs monitoring, blood glucose checks, EKGs, and support activities of daily living alongside Patient Care Technicians (PCTs).
Utilize hoyer lifts when necessary for patient mobility and safety.

Preferred Qualifications

Familiarity with Epic or equivalent electronic health record systems.

Scrub Color

Any combination of navy and white.
