POSITION SUMMARY:
This position is assigned to the Office of Information Technology Services (ITS) and is responsible for assisting the ITS management staff in the coordination of administrative tasks which are complex in nature, broad in objective and integrate diverse functions.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Specific duties include:
- Analyzing legislation and administrative rules to Department policies to evaluate impact on ITS;
- Preparing recommendations/responses to new or amended laws, rules or policies;
- Analyzing legislation, rules and policies as they relate to ITS;
- Preparing analysis of legislation, rules and policy within schedule and in a format specified in the agency;
- Monitoring legislation, rules and policy impacting ITS and providing reports to ITS leadership;
- Assisting in the procurement of products and services in ITS;
- Receiving, reviewing, and tracking maintenance renewals for IT products and services, as well as other areas of the agency;
- Coordinating with vendors to receive and update quotes for products and services; and
- Creating requisitions in MyFloridaMarketPlace (MFMP).
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of office procedures and practices;
- Knowledge of the principles and techniques of effective verbal and written communication;
- Knowledge of the methods of data collection;
- Knowledge of basic arithmetic;
- Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures;

- Ability to perform basic arithmetical calculations;
- Ability to work independently;
- Ability to utilize problem solving techniques; and
- Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments.

BACKGROUND:
FDLE requires an extensive background process of all recommended applicants. This information will be utilized to make the final hiring decision.

Preference will be given to current FDLE members who have satisfactorily completed at least six months of the probationary period for their current position.
