Chief Operating Officer

The client is seeking a Chief Operating Officer for the Houston, TX market. In this role, you will prepare written, in-depth credit analysis for commercial loans and provide exceptional leadership to inspire and engage staff. The position focuses on overseeing core operating functions, supporting efficient delivery of financial products and services, and aligning day-to-day execution with organizational strategy. As part of senior leadership, you will lead Branch Operations and Operations Support Services, collaborating with internal departments to assess, plan, and manage the efficient utilization of financial products and services. You will develop, monitor, and execute the organization’s strategic business plan, partnering with other senior management to develop and recommend policies, products, services, and processes that support competitive advantage and financial viability. You will uphold consistent policy adherence and compliance with applicable regulations, directing and monitoring branch operations and support staff to ensure organizational goals are met. You will support customer and product profitability initiatives, participate in reporting and the planning and budgeting process, and collaborate on product development and enhancement efforts. Additional responsibilities include establishing and monitoring branch financial and service delivery performance goals, overseeing branch administration and operational policies and procedures, controlling and reporting branch losses, and ensuring regulatory compliance. You will also provide mentoring and coaching to managers and staff, identify personnel needs within each branch in coordination with HR, and stay current on trends affecting the financial services industry; a bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and work experience and 10+ years of branch leadership experience in a financial institution are required, with relevant financial services operational knowledge and familiarity with applicable laws and regulations expected.
