Duties

Help

• Serve as the MTF expert on the Point-of-Use (POU) system related to aspects for the use of medications within those systems.
• Conduct surveys and studies of supply and procurement operations to determine the proper application of the system within the medication management system.
• Issue individual user access and provides staff guidance and training.
• Monitor, analyze, and troubleshoot interfaces between POU system and other information systems.
• Maintain data integrity within the system and conduct data files backup to tape on a regular basis.
• Deploy and maintain the automated dispensing systems and implement proposed program changes.

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
• This position has been designated "Mission Essential". In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations, the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.
• This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement. A candidate tentatively selected for appointment to this position will be required to sign a statement consenting to annual seasonal influenza vaccination.
• Required to be screened for applicable immunizations or pre-existing immunity based on occupational risk, regardless of job series.
• This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
• This position has a requirement to lift up to 40 lbs. in the regular performance of duties.
• This position is a Testing Designated Position (TDP) subject to a pre-employment drug screening, and random testing thereafter, to include testing based on reasonable suspicion and testing due to direct involvement with an on-duty accident.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. (GS-07) Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes assisting with the technical maintenance of Point-of-Use (POU) automation systems; assisting with monitoring and adjusting pharmaceutical or supply stock levels within automated databases; and compiling system reports. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).

Education: One full year of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Supply Chain Management.

OR

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 18. Add the two percentages.

(GS-09) Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes assisting with the technical maintenance, troubleshooting, and user management of Point-of-Use (POU) automation systems; monitoring and adjusting pharmaceutical or supply stock levels within automated databases; and compiling system reports to identify inventory discrepancies or compliance issues.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).

OR

Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as:Supply Chain Management.

OR

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (See below).

- 52 weeks of Federal service at GS-05 for the GS-07 position.

- 52 weeks of Federal service at GS-07 for the GS-09 position.
