Accounting Analyst

Vaco is partnering with a confidential Connecticut organization to identify an Accounting Analyst who enjoys combining accounting, budgeting, and financial analysis in a mission-driven environment. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional who wants broad exposure to budgeting, financial reporting, month‑end close, and operational finance while working closely with executive leadership. Key Responsibilities Support annual budgeting, forecasting, and ongoing budget‑to‑actual variance analysis Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and monthly/quarterly financial reports Assist with month‑end close and general ledger maintenance Manage accounts receivable, billing, collections, and aging analysis Support annual audits and ensure compliance with applicable funding and financial regulations Maintain fixed asset records and assist with property tax and regulatory filings Partner with department leaders to provide financial guidance and reporting Identify opportunities to improve financial processes and reporting accuracy What We’re Looking For Experience in accounting, budgeting, or financial analysis Strong knowledge of month‑end close, journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting Experience with budget preparation and variance analysis Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills Ability to manage multiple priorities while working independently Proficiency with Excel and accounting/ERP systems If you’re looking for a role where you can make an impact and expand your accounting and finance experience this is the role for you!
