Project Controller

This fully remote role supports high-visibility federal projects across healthcare, government, and defense environments. You will help lead project delivery, performance oversight, compliance activities, and client communication for complex government programs. The position combines project controls, risk management, quality assurance, reporting, and stakeholder coordination across distributed teams. You will work closely with Contracting Officer's Representatives, Contracting Officers, and senior agency leadership to keep projects aligned with contractual and regulatory requirements. Success in this role requires strong organization, attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to manage multiple priorities under strict deadlines. You will also contribute to audits, deliverable reviews, invoice reconciliation, team development, and continuous process improvement. Accountabilities:

The Project Controller will oversee day-to-day project execution and provide structured project controls across supported federal contracts. The role requires close coordination with government stakeholders, distributed project teams, and internal leadership to ensure deliverables, reporting, compliance, and performance remain on track.

• Direct project teams and coordinate the successful completion of contractual deliverables.
• Serve as a key point of contact for Contracting Officer's Representatives (CORs), Contracting Officers (COs), and agency program leadership.
• Prepare monthly progress reports, CFM reporting, quarterly executive briefings, and other required project communications.
• Build, maintain, and update Integrated Master Schedules (IMS), Project Management Plans, Risk Management Plans, and Quality Assurance/Quality Control Plans.
• Lead monthly and bi-weekly status meetings with government stakeholders using Microsoft Teams and approved federal communication platforms.
• Monitor project performance, milestones, risks, deliverables, and contractual obligations across multiple time zones.
• Oversee deliverable reviews and ensure work products meet applicable quality and compliance standards.
• Reconcile invoices and monitor financial and performance information associated with supported contracts.
• Coordinate daily execution activities and respond to ad-hoc requests from senior government stakeholders.
• Participate in audits and compliance reviews, evaluating processes and identifying areas requiring corrective action or improvement.
• Apply risk management, quality assurance, earned value, and project scheduling practices to support successful contract delivery.
• Mentor and train new claims processors and other team members as needed.
• Maintain clear and accurate project documentation in accordance with federal requirements and internal standards.
• Adapt project execution and priorities as client needs, program requirements, and regulatory expectations evolve.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate is an experienced project management professional with strong exposure to government contracting, healthcare, or IT services. You should be comfortable managing multiple priorities, communicating with senior stakeholders, and working independently while maintaining rigorous attention to project controls and compliance.

• 5+ years of project management experience , preferably within government contracting, healthcare, or IT services.
• Experience working with FAR-based contracts and federal project management practices.
• Knowledge of risk management, quality assurance, earned value reporting, and Integrated Master Scheduling.
• Familiarity with federal contracting terminology, FAR/DFARS requirements, and CPARS reporting.
• Completion of HHS/CMS Contractor Information Security, Privacy, and Records Management training.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and priorities.
• Excellent attention to detail and a strong commitment to accuracy.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate with government stakeholders and senior leadership.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Microsoft Project, and SharePoint.
• Ability to obtain and maintain any required security clearance or Public Trust designation.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with distributed teams.

• Willingness to pursue ongoing education and stay current with industry standards, technologies, and regulatory developments.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing client requirements and program priorities.
• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Project Management, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience, preferred.
• PMP certification preferred.
• CRISC, CISA, CIA, or CGFM certification preferred.
• ITIL v4 Foundations certification preferred.
• Experience supporting CMS, VA, or DoD contracts preferred.
• Experience with proposal development or capture support is a plus.
