Quality Manager

This is an opportunity to lead quality strategy for a well established manufacturer, shaping the systems, standards, and culture that keep product quality at the center of the business. The Quality Manager will bring both hands on expertise and strategic vision, building inspection protocols, driving continuous improvement, and mentoring a team dedicated to excellence. This role offers real influence over how quality shows up across the organization, from the shop floor to customer relationships, in a company positioned for continued growth.
Job Duties and Responsibilities- Lead and mentor a team of quality professionals, driving performance and professional growth
- Build and maintain quality management systems, standards, and internal controls across all operations
- Design inspection protocols, quality documentation, and standard operating procedures
- Develop quality metrics and KPIs to support real time performance monitoring
- Oversee material certification and compliance tracking processes
- Lead internal quality audits and coordinate third party certifications
- Drive root cause analysis and corrective and preventive action programs
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to increase first pass yield and reduce rework
- Apply statistical process control and quality methodologies to optimize operations
- Analyze quality data to identify trends and guide proactive improvement
- Partner with design and engineering teams on manufacturability and process optimization
- Oversee final inspection to ensure products meet customer specifications
- Establish in process quality gates and receiving inspection procedures
- Set quality standards for fabrication and assembly operations
- Coordinate product testing, validation, and customer acceptance activities
- Build a strong quality culture through training and team engagement
- Collaborate closely with operations, design, and supply chain partners
- Manage customer quality concerns and supplier quality requirements
- Support the sales team with quality certifications and capability documentation
- Lead quality review meetings and communicate performance across the organization
- Five or more years of quality experience in a manufacturing or mechanical environment
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 or similar quality management system standards
- Strong understanding of blueprint reading and technical drawings
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, for data analysis
- Strong analytical and problem solving abilities with a data driven approach
- Excellent communication skills across all levels of an organization
- Detail oriented with strong documentation skills
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, quality, or a related technical field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience with regulated industries and compliance requirements, including familiarity with food safety regulations
- Experience with welding and fabrication quality standards
- Certified Quality Engineer or similar quality certification
- Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification
- Experience with ERP systems
