Maintenance Technician

Maintenance TechnicianWe are seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to support the safe and reliable operation of plant machinery and equipment. This role is responsible for performing electrical, mechanical, and electronic repairs, upgrades, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and equipment installation throughout the facility.The ideal candidate has strong electromechanical troubleshooting skills, experience with PLCs and servo drives, and the ability to work independently during equipment breakdowns and plant projects.Key Responsibilities:Perform electrical, mechanical, and electronic repairs on plant machinery and equipmentService ink and wash-up systems on printing pressesBecome proficient in the setup and operation of bag-making equipmentTroubleshoot plant machinery using electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and electronic systemsPerform mechanical and electrical machine upgradesRead and interpret electrical and pneumatic schematicsComplete preventative maintenance tasksHelp create and maintain preventative maintenance schedulesRepair mandrels and rack-in/rack-out systems on printing pressesRepair unwind and rewind drives and slitting systemsReplace bearings on machinery and equipmentTroubleshoot and repair servo drives and PLC systemsMaintain an accurate inventory of spare partsDirect contractors and oversee plant projectsAssist with accident investigations and recommend safety improvementsDevelop procedures that improve safety, efficiency, and equipment reliabilitySupport new equipment installation, equipment upgrades, and equipment relocationMaintain plant support equipment, including air compressors, chillers, HVAC systems, and oxidizersRespond to off-hours breakdowns and participate in an on-call rotationQualifications:Experience in industrial maintenance, manufacturing, printing, converting, or a related environmentStrong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skillsExperience with PLCs, servo drives, motors, bearings, and pneumatic systemsAbility to read electrical and pneumatic schematicsExperience performing preventative maintenance and equipment upgradesAbility to manage projects and coordinate outside contractorsStrong safety awareness and problem-solving skillsWillingness to be on call and respond to breakdowns outside normal working hoursPreferred Experience:Printing press maintenanceBag-machine or converting-equipment experienceExperience with ink systems, wash-up systems, unwind/rewind systems, and slitting equipmentExperience maintaining air compressors, chillers, HVAC systems, and oxidizers$22 - $30 an hour
