Position Overview LVT is seeking a Staff Mechanical Engineer to join the team at our American Fork HQ and Spanish Fork MFG facilities. You will work on core development for AI/ML‑enabled security solutions, including but not limited to optical pan/tilt cameras, batteries, solar power, electronics packaging, mechanisms, sensors and payloads. The role requires high ownership and frequent collaboration with other core disciplines. The ideal candidate is practical, hands‑on and a self‑starter. You will also have high growth potential and additional leadership opportunities. Location: This role is based in‑office out of American Fork, Utah. Some days will need to be spent with the team and in‑house manufacturing in Spanish Fork. Approximately 5‑10% travel to overseas partners’ facilities is required. Role Responsibilities Concept to Production: Lead complex mechanical and electromechanical product development programs through the entire lifecycle. Design Ownership: Collaborate with Product Management to define product direction through thorough design trade‑off studies. Project Management: Manage hardware timelines and actively interface with Project Management and external manufacturing and design partners to meet launch goals. Rapid Innovation: Execute rapid concept evaluations for new mechanical and electromechanical products. Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Product Management, Program Management, Electrical Engineering, Firmware, and Manufacturing teams to ensure efficient development of quality products. Design Integrity: Lead rigorous design reviews, identify technical risks, and establish/execute effective mitigation plans throughout development phases. Our Ideal Candidate 10+ years of professional experience designing mechanical and electromechanical products (e.g., IoT devices, industrial or medical equipment, drones, camera systems, consumer electronics). BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent practical experience. Strong CAD skills, with a preference for PTC Creo and Windchill. Deep understanding of Design for Manufacturing (DFM), specifically for sheet metal, welding, and injection molding. Benefits We believe you do your best work when your whole life is supported.
