As the Hospital Lab Director, you will oversee and manage all aspects of our hospital laboratory operations, ensuring the delivery of accurate and timely diagnostic services. This is an exceptional opportunity to contribute to the advancement of patient care and clinical outcomes within a progressive and patient-centered healthcare organization.Responsibilities:Provide strategic leadership and direction for the hospital laboratory, setting goals, objectives, and performance metrics in alignment with the organization's overall mission and vision.Develop and implement laboratory policies, procedures, and quality assurance programs to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and accreditation requirements.Manage and optimize laboratory resources, including personnel, equipment, supplies, and budgets, to ensure efficient and cost-effective operations.Foster a culture of continuous improvement, promoting innovation and implementing best practices to enhance laboratory services and maximize patient outcomes.Collaborate with healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, and other departments, to ensure seamless integration of laboratory services into patient care pathways.Stay abreast of emerging trends, technologies, and regulations in laboratory medicine, and actively participate in professional development activities to maintain expertise and drive innovation.Oversee the hiring, training, and performance evaluation of laboratory staff, providing mentorship and guidance to foster professional growth and ensure a high-performing team.Qualifications:A minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in laboratory management, with demonstrated leadership capabilities.Current certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) or Medical Technologist (MT) is required.Strong knowledge of laboratory operations, including testing methodologies, quality control, and proficiency testing.Experience with laboratory information systems (LIS) and proficiency in utilizing technology to streamline processes and enhance efficiency.Extensive knowledge of regulatory standards and accreditation requirements, such as CLIA, CAP, and Joint Commission.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams and build relationships with stakeholders.Exceptional organizational and problem-solving abilities, with keen attention to detail.A commitment to patient safety, quality, and continuous improvement.Must be ASCP or AMT certified.
