$97.45k - $110.05kLATINO ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT CENTER
About LEDC: The Latino Economic Development Center (LEDC) is a private, non-profit 501(c)(3) community development organization founded in 1991. LEDC is a local certified Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) and HUD-Certified Housing Counseling agency committed to deepening its impact, strengthening institutional resilience, and positioning the organization as a long-term leader in economic development across the Washington Metropolitan Region. LEDC’s mission is to drive the economic advancement of Latinos and local communities by closing critical gaps in access to capital, knowledge, and opportunity. Through an integrated approach that combines financing, technical assistance, and housing support, LEDC equips entrepreneurs and families to build stability, grow assets, and achieve long-term prosperity. LEDC is headquartered in Washington, DC, and has offices in Arlington, VA; Baltimore, MD; and White Oak, MD; in addition to managing the Financial Empowerment Center in Wheaton, MD. Our Mission: LEDC catalyzes economic advancement of Latinos and local communities by bridging the gap to capital and resources to achieve financial prosperity. About the Finance Team: The Finance team supports LEDC’s mission by ensuring strong financial stewardship, accountability, and compliance across the organization. The team manages financial reporting, budgeting, grant and loan accounting, audits, and internal controls to support informed decision-making and responsible use of resources. Working collaboratively across departments, the Finance team plays a key role in maintaining financial integrity while supporting the programs and services that advance economic opportunity in the communities LEDC serves. Position Summary: The Accounting & Grants Manager owns LEDC's grant accounting and compliance function, from budget monitoring and funder-facing reporting to grant contract and proposal review. Reporting to the Director of Finance, this role directly supervises the Grants Management Accountant and serves as the Finance team's primary point of contact for program directors on budget matters. This role balances hands-on oversight of grant-related accounting work with the supervisory and external-facing responsibilities of a manager. Given the size of the Finance team, this role is also expected to stay flexible and support accounting tasks, currently led by the Accounting Manager, as organizational needs require, particularly during high-volume periods or staff absences. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Grant Budget Management & Program Director Relations Own monitoring of grant spending and allocation across the grant portfolio, and share budget updates with the Finance team on a weekly basis. Lead monthly budget meetings with program directors (Housing & DCI, and Business & Lending) to discuss budget status and needs. Lead projection and planning of grant expenses, and review department-level quarterly actuals- vs-budget comparisons before they go to program leadership. Prepare and lead budget modification packages, including funder-facing modifications. Grant Contracts & Proposals Review grant contracts for financial terms and compliance requirements. Lead grant proposal budgets and financial narratives in partnership with the Development team and program leadership. Review and approve grant budget dashboards and reports, budget maintenance, and grant-related AP entries (budget-related A/P adjustments, DCI grant disbursements, NACHA payment processing) prepared by the Accountant. Review biweekly payroll reallocation to grants, quarterly payroll reallocation breakdowns, and timesheet review prepared by the Accountant. Review monthly and quarterly grant program reports ( Housing, Small Business and Lending) and Sage grant-project maintenance and close-out work. Maintain oversight of grant budget documentation and Finance forms related to grants. Leadership & Supervision Directly supervise and develop the Grants Management Accountant, reviewing and approving their grant accounting work and providing coaching and professional development. Actively contribute to Finance team planning and priorities as part of the department's leadership. Internal Controls & Continuous Improvement Ensure data integrity, appropriate internal controls, and adherence to internal and external reporting deadlines for grant-related accounting. Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices in grants management. Other duties as assigned. Specific duties may vary based on program needs, funding requirements, and operational priorities. As the role evolves, additional responsibilities may be assigned. Required Qualifications: We recognize that candidates may meet these qualifications in different ways and encourage individuals with a passion for community-centered work to apply, even if their experience does not align perfectly with every item listed. Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related discipline that demonstrates the requisite knowledge to perform the duties of the job. A minimum of 5 years of financial management experience within a non-profit organization, including experience directly supervising or mentoring staff. Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial regulations, and federal grant compliance. Experience with Sage Intacct software. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and leadership abilities. Willingness and ability to flex into grants management support (budget monitoring, funder coordination, and related tasks) as organizational needs require; comfort moving between core accounting work and grants-adjacent support is a plus. Commitment to the organization’s mission and values. Additional Qualifications: Occasional travel (less than 10%) to support other LEDC office locations, as needed. Access to reliable transportation. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with grants management, budget monitoring, or funder compliance in a nonprofit setting. CPA or other relevant professional certification. Bilingual in English and Spanish, with professional proficiency in reading, writing, and verbal communication in Spanish. Work Environment: This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment, such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and scanners. The office environment is generally climate-controlled; however, temperatures may vary, and some individuals may find it too warm or too cool at times. Hybrid Work Model: LEDC maintains a hybrid workplace model. In-office schedules vary by team, but all staff are expected to be able to report to the office any day of the week, as needed. Schedule: Typical office hours are Monday through Friday, 9am-5pm, however the finalized schedule is approved by this position’s supervisor. This is a full-time, exempt position which typically requires 40 hours per week. Primary Reporting Location: 1401 Columbia Rd. NW, Unit C-1, Washington, DC 20009. Physical Requirements: This is largely a sedentary role; however, some or all of the following may be required.: Ability to remain in a stationary position for prolonged periods (e.g., sitting at a desk). Ability to move about the office to access files, office machinery, etc. Ability to occasionally move/lift/carry up to 10-20 pounds (e.g., office supplies, files, equipment). Constant operation of a computer, keyboard, mouse, and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine and scanner. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in person, over the phone, and in writing. Ability to see details at close range (within a few feet). Ability to hear and respond to spoken communication during meetings, calls, and office interactions. This list is not exhaustive, and other reasonable physical requirements may be assigned as needed to support the role. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this job. The salary range for this position is $97,450.00 - $110,050.00, commensurate with experience, and covers all hours worked. LEDC provides a comprehensive benefits package that includes: Options for employer-paid healthcare, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance. Paid sick leave, vacation, and personal days. Additional benefits and resources to support employee wellbeing. Notices Equal access to programs, services, and employment is available to all qualified persons. Those applicants requiring accommodation to complete the application and/or interview process should contact [email protected] . We make hiring decisions solely on qualifications, merit, and business needs at the time. This policy applies to all employment practices within our organization, including hiring, recruiting, promotion, termination, layoff, recall, leave of absence, compensation, benefits, training, and apprenticeship.
