Position Summary: The Diesel Mechanic is responsible for troubleshooting, cleaning, inspecting, and maintaining heavy and support equipment at transfer stations and material-recovery facilities safely and professionally as well as preparing new and used trucks for use. Your Role: Troubleshooting heavy equipment. Welding Maintain and repair various types of heavy equipment, diesel motors, and hydraulic systems. New and used truck preparation Work all assigned shifts from the scheduled start time to the scheduled end time. Take an active role in the improvement of safety and health in the workplace. Participate in all required Company meetings, including weekly safety meetings. Maintains reasonable, regular, and punctual attendance consistent with Company policies, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), and other federal, state, and local standards. Adapts to changing duties, as required, based on business needs Your Skills: Ability to use a variety of vehicle maintenance tools, such as hand tools, electric tools, pneumatic tools, jacking equipment, safety stands, and electronic testing equipment. Ability to receive, understand, and follow oral and written instructions. Ability to read and understand parts of service manuals. Ability to prepare legible and understandable work orders and schedule completion sheets. Ability to work in a variety of weather conditions. Requirements : High School Diploma or Equivalent Driver's License/CDL B is a plus. Must supply own tools ASE Certification Tow Motor and Air brake certification is a plus Demonstrated mechanical skills. Must supply own tools. 2-5 years of experience in a transport environment Gritty, outgoing, and eager to learn.
