From numerous awards to being recognized as one of the best places to work, Suddath offers a caring, family environment while providing relocation and logistics services to people and companies all around the world.The Staff Accountant is responsible for supporting the Corporate Accounting team through the preparation and maintenance of accurate financial records, account reconciliations, and month-end close activities. This position performs critical accounting functions including bank reconciliations, fixed asset accounting, intercompany accounting, and audit support while ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP and company policies. The Staff Accountant collaborates with business units and cross-functional departments to promote accurate financial reporting, maintain strong internal controls, and support continuous process improvement initiatives.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Prepare and record journal entries, cash transactions, corporate allocations, general ledger account analysis, roll forwards, and other analysis required for the month-end close.Timely and accurate completion of monthly financial closeMonthly reconciliation and resolution of balance sheet accounts including but not limited to bank reconciliations, intercompany transactions, and fixed asset accounts.Editing and reconciling financial reports and providing resolutions for accounting issuesUnderstanding of accounting principles and policies.Assist in the preparation of financial reports for management with understanding of causes of variances to prior month, previous year, and budgeted results.Special projects as requiredCalculation and reconciliation of commissions, referrals, audit and filing fees, rebates, etc.Understand and assist in management of financial controlsWorking knowledge of Accounting Operations (A/P, A/R, Billing, Document Mgmt)Qualifications:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
