AWS Data Engineer

AWS Data EngineerLocation: Knoxville, TN, Columbia SC or Lafayette, LA or Birmingham, ALType: Direct HireResponsibilitiesSupport the development, enhancement, and maintenance of Enterprise Risk Analytics applications within a financial services environment.Build and support cloud-based data solutions using AWS technologies, emphasizing reliable data processing, analytics, automation, and application performance.Collaborate with technical and business teams to develop and enhance data pipelines and ETL processes.Support data transformation and analytics workloads, maintaining production-ready solutions.Apply Generative AI and automation capabilities to improve data engineering processes and operational efficiency.Requirements5+ years of hands-on experience with AWS cloud services in data engineering environments.Experience developing and maintaining data solutions using Amazon Redshift.Hands-on experience with AWS Glue, including ETL jobs and data transformation workflows.Strong programming skills in Python for data processing, scripting, and automation.Advanced SQL skills, including complex queries, data transformations, and performance optimization.Experience developing and supporting ETL/data pipelines for analytics applications.Experience with CI/CD pipelines and modern software delivery practices.Familiarity with Generative AI (GenAI) technologies and their application to data engineering or automation use cases.Experience automating data engineering processes, workflows, and operational tasks.Ability to troubleshoot and support data applications in enterprise production environments.Experience working with financial services, risk analytics, or similarly regulated data environments is preferred.Educational Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or a related technical field.
