Senior Estimator Sitework / Grading / Utilities

A well-established Atlanta-area site development contractor is seeking a high-level Senior Estimator to join its growing estimating team.

This is a key leadership role for someone who understands site construction from the ground up and can independently build competitive, accurate bids without constant oversight. The company is looking for an experienced estimator who can read civil plans confidently, identify scope gaps early, and develop winning bid strategies across complex site development projects.

Projects typically range from $4M$30M and include grading, earthwork, underground utilities, paving, storm drainage, sanitary sewer, water main, erosion control, site concrete, and subgrade preparation.

Must-Haves

• 5+ years of estimating experience in sitework, grading, earthwork, underground utilities, or heavy civil construction
• Experience pricing full site development packages independently
• Strong civil plan reading and quantity takeoff experience
• Track record estimating projects in the $4M$30M range
• Experience with self-perform civil/site contractors strongly preferred
• Proficiency with AGTEK and HCSS HeavyBid preferred
• Ability to build complete estimates and defend pricing strategy
• Strong understanding of grading, paving, utilities, erosion control, storm drain, sewer, water main, and site concrete scopes

Compensation

• $130K$170K base salary
• 20% bonus potential
• Full benefits package

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare complete estimates for site development and heavy civil construction projects
• Perform detailed quantity takeoffs and pricing for grading, utilities, paving, erosion control, storm, sewer, water, and site concrete scopes
• Review civil drawings and specifications to identify scope gaps, risks, and cost opportunities
• Develop bid strategies in collaboration with ownership and senior leadership
• Coordinate subcontractor and supplier pricing
• Manage bid submissions and support project handoff to operations after award
• Analyze project costs, labor, production rates, and equipment requirements
• Support estimating process improvements and contribute to team growth initiatives

Preferred Experience

• Experience with B2W, Trimble, Carlson, Bluebeam, or Trimble Business Center
• Atlanta-area subcontractor and supplier relationships
• Background mentoring junior estimators or supporting estimating leadership
• Field experience in grading, utilities, or site development
