Senior Assistant County Attorney - Litigation Bureau

Key Responsibilities Defend civil lawsuits brought against the County, its agencies, departments, officials, and employees. Represent the County in tort actions heard in state court, including serious and complex personal injury claims from accidents on County roads, involving County employees, County‑owned property, or County law enforcement. Prepare and present legal arguments; conduct legal research and drafting of pleadings and briefs. Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders, external counsel, and court personnel. Exercise sound judgment, organization, and presentation skills in handling multiple cases simultaneously. Qualifications Admitted to the New York State Bar. Minimum five (5) years of experience in civil defense litigation. Sponsorship is not available for this role. This position does not offer relocation assistance at this time. Compensation and Working Hours Salary Range: $100,000 to $135,000, commensurate with experience. Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:30pm.
