Fitter Welder

Shift: 2nd Shift - Monday-Thursday, 2:00 PM-12:00 AM
Pay Range: $26-$29/hour, Based on experience
Location: Cudahy

We are seeking skilled Fitter Welders to join our 2nd shift team. This role is responsible for reading detailed drawings and fitting together steel fabrications ranging from small components to assemblies weighing several thousand pounds. Candidates must have strong fitting abilities along with hands-on welding experience using hardwire and/or metalcore processes.

This position requires precision, safety awareness, and the ability to work efficiently in a team-oriented manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to understand fabrication requirements
• Fit and assemble steel fabrications accurately prior to welding
• Perform welding using hardwire and/or metalcore processes
• Safely operate overhead cranes, jib cranes, and forklifts to move materials and assemblies
• Conduct quality checks to ensure accuracy and conformance to specifications
• Maintain equipment through routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting
• Keep work areas clean, organized, and safe

Qualifications

• Experience fitting and welding structural or heavy steel fabrications
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints
• Experience operating overhead cranes, jib cranes, and forklifts
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Ability to handle fabrications ranging from small parts to several-thousand-pound assemblies
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment
