We are looking for an Accountant to support Finance Shared Services. This position will play an active role in the month-end close and financial reporting process. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical accounting skills with a strong desire to learn. The ability to prioritize, efficiently plan work activities, and be detail and results-oriented is critical to the position.Key ResponsibilitiesMaintain general ledger accounts and related activities to produce financial statements and reportsReconcile, analyze, and review general ledger accounts in preparation for the month-end close processPrepare journal entries with the review for accuracy and evaluate accounting classifications in accordance with generally accepted accounting principlesEnsure monthly accruals, allocations, and other complex journal entries are accurate as new information is obtainedPrepare, review, and submit documentation in support of external and internal auditsAssist with the month-end and quarter-end close process, understanding and utilizing the appropriate information systems and technologyAssist in evaluating, recommending, maintaining, and monitoring appropriate internal controls and related documentationOversee and manage various administrative processesAssist with various projects as neededRequired SkillsProficient with MS Word & ExcelPreferred SkillsKnowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)Experience in SAP Systems or similar large ERP systemAdvanced Excel skills, including the ability to manipulate spreadsheets, create pivot tables, and summarize data from multiple sourcesEducation RequirementsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field (required)BenefitsMedical, Vision, and Dental Insurance Plans401k Retirement FundAbout the ClientThis client is a Fortune 500 agricultural cooperative — the largest of its kind in the United States — rooted in the belief that the people who grow food should have a stake in how it's processed, marketed, and sold.
