Job Description
Position Overview

The Registered Nurse (RN) will provide comprehensive nursing care within a psychiatric care setting under New York State guidelines. The RN is responsible for delivering clinical care, supervising nursing staff, and ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of patients/residents. This role includes direct patient care, clinical oversight, and coordination with interdisciplinary teams to support treatment and recovery.

Key Responsibilities
• Administer medications, injections, IV therapy, and other prescribed treatments in accordance with physician orders.
• Perform clinical procedures including tube feedings, venipuncture (if certified), specimen collection, and colostomy care.
• Monitor and assess patient conditions; document and report changes to appropriate clinical staff.
• Record vital signs including temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure accurately.
• Prepare and apply dressings and provide wound care as required.
• Assist patients/residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, feeding, mobility, and personal care.
• Maintain patient/resident environment, including bed making, linen changes, and ensuring cleanliness and safety.
• Conduct clinical rounds to assess patient needs and evaluate quality of care delivery.
• Supervise and provide clinical guidance to Graduate Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), and direct care staff.
• Delegate nursing tasks appropriately and ensure completion in accordance with care plans and standards.
• Act as a liaison with external healthcare providers and agencies to ensure continuity of care and proper follow-up.
• Participate in discharge planning and provide guidance to patients, families, and care providers.
• Contribute to performance evaluations, reports, and documentation related to nursing staff and patient care activities.
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory standards, facility policies, and patient safety protocols.

Work Schedule & Conditions
• Shifts Available:

o Days: 6:15 AM - 2:45 PM (3 positions)

o Evenings: 2:15 PM - 10:45 PM (3 positions)

o Nights: 10:15 PM - 6:45 AM (4 positions)
• Overtime: May be required
• Travel: Not required
• Holidays: Required to work New York State holidays as scheduled

Qualifications & Requirements
• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of New York
• Experience in psychiatric, clinical, or residential healthcare settings preferred
• Strong clinical assessment, documentation, and supervisory skills
• Ability to lead and support multidisciplinary care teams
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Commitment to patient-centered care and safety

Additional Information
• Max Bill Rate: $140/hour (No VMS Fee & NBO)
