Blood Collection Staff - Customer Service

Job Description We provide paid training and no prior medical experience is required. Join the American Red Cross as a blood collector and assist with the blood collection process: transporting and setting up equipment, creating a welcoming environment for donors, and following safety procedures while collecting lifesaving blood for hospitals. Key Responsibilities Connect personally with donors, listen to their stories, and explain the impact of their donation. Collaborate with teammates to create a welcoming environment so donors feel comfortable returning. Maintain high attention to detail to ensure blood quality meets regulatory requirements. Drive Red Cross vehicles and assist with setup and tear down of equipment at donation sites. Adhere to a variable schedule, including early mornings, late nights, weekends, holidays, and possible overnight travel. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Customer service experience and effective verbal communication skills. Valid driver’s license with a good driving record. Physical ability to lift, push, or pull heavy weights, operate equipment, sit or stand for long periods, and adapt to irregular hours and frequent schedule changes. Minimum height 60 inches required for vehicle operation. Basic computer skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office. Preferred Qualifications Prior healthcare or phlebotomy experience (CNA, MA, EMT, etc.). Prior leadership experience. Benefits Medical, Dental, and Vision plans.
