Electrical Field Service Technician Location: Chicago, IL Pay Range: $87,360 - $104,000 DOE plus benefits Reference Number: 388727 Published Date: 05/14/2026 Job Type: Permanent Industry: Architecture and Engineering Hours: Full Time Job Description: Maintain and troubleshoot industrial electrical distribution systems and equipment including substations, breakers, switchgear, MCCs, protective relay systems, battery and UPS systems, and transformers up to 138kV. Perform preventive and predictive maintenance such as IR thermography, transformer oil analysis, partial discharge analysis, and power quality analysis. Support root cause analysis programs for major failures and assist in identifying and resolving chronic electrical asset concerns. Assist in turnaround planning and cost estimation of electrical work, ensuring optimal equipment performance. Provide on‑site or remote guidance to plant or contract personnel to ensure safe and effective work execution. Qualifications: Minimum of 5 years of experience maintaining medium voltage (5 kV to 15 kV) electrical systems in an industrial environment. Proven experience in installation, troubleshooting, and repairs of industrial electrical systems and equipment. Knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance practices for industrial electrical systems. Must have both medium and high voltage experience.
