Registered Nurse - CVICU

Job Description

Job Summary:
Provide critical care nursing in the CVICU, managing patients with complex cardiac and respiratory conditions requiring ECMO support. Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver expert care in a fast-paced ICU environment.

Responsibilities:

• Administer advanced cardiovascular and respiratory care to critically ill patients.
• Monitor and manage ECMO devices during bedside procedures, including cannulation and cannula adjustments.
• Collaborate with ICU RNs and RTs to follow ECMO protocols and provider directions.
• Document patient care accurately using EPIC EMR, ensuring compliance with clinical standards.
• Assess patient status continuously, responding promptly to changes or emergencies.
• Maintain all required certifications and participate in ongoing professional development.

Qualifications:

• Current SC RN license with ICU nursing experience.
• Minimum of one year experience in ECMO device management or a related specialty.
• Must have valid ACLS, BLS, PALS certifications.
• EPIC EMR experience of at least one year is required.
• Possess valid ECMO specialist training and CME credits to maintain proficiency.
• Ability to work night shifts (3x12 hours) and float between CVICU and PICU as needed.
