Position Summary The Commercial Risk Advisor is responsible for developing new commercial insurance relationships while managing and growing an existing book of business. This role focuses on identifying business opportunities, understanding each client's unique risk profile, and delivering tailored insurance and risk management solutions. The ideal candidate is a consultative sales professional with a passion for helping businesses, developing long-term relationships, and consistently exceeding sales goals. What You'll Do Develop new commercial insurance opportunities through networking, referrals, centers of influence, marketing-generated leads, prospecting, and community involvement. Build trusted relationships with business owners, executives, and decision-makers by understanding their operations, goals, and risk exposures. Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and recommend customized commercial insurance and risk management solutions. Meet or exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual new business production goals. Prepare and deliver professional insurance proposals and presentations. Collaborate with our Commercial Lines Service Team to market new business, negotiate with insurance carriers, and deliver outstanding client service. Maintain strong client relationships through proactive communication, annual coverage reviews, and strategic renewal planning. Identify opportunities to expand existing client relationships through additional coverages and risk management solutions. Utilize CRM and agency management systems to manage pipeline activity, document sales efforts, and maintain accurate records. Stay current on commercial insurance products, carrier appetite, underwriting trends, market conditions, and industry developments. Participate in networking organizations, professional associations, and community events that support business development. Follow established sales processes and best practices while continually improving sales effectiveness. Serve as a knowledgeable resource for clients throughout the policy lifecycle, including renewals, claims advocacy, and ongoing risk management conversations. What You Bring Active Property & Casualty Insurance License. Minimum 3 years of commercial insurance sales experience, preferably with an independent agency. Demonstrated success developing new business and maintaining long-term client relationships. Strong understanding of commercial insurance coverages, underwriting, risk management principles, and carrier markets. Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and consultative selling skills. Proven ability to build credibility with business owners and executives. Highly organized with exceptional time management and follow-through. Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and comfortable working independently while collaborating with internal teams. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and agency management/CRM systems. Professional demeanor with a strong commitment to client service and ethical business practices. Preferred Qualifications Existing network of business relationships within Southern California. Professional designations such as CPCU, CIC, CRM, ARM, or a commitment to ongoing professional development. Experience selling small to middle-market commercial insurance programs.
