We're a company of doers, thinkers and builders, united by purpose and grounded in reality.The Senior Electrical Engineer for Voyager Lunar Systems is responsible for serving as Technical Authority for all electrical systems for Peregrine lunar landers, delivering hardware and engineering analysis products for electrical subsystems with appropriate technical rigor, ensuring deliverables are completed on schedule, within budget, and ensuring electrical subsystem, technical risks, issues, opportunities are documented.The position reports to the Electronic Systems Manager and is part of Voyager Lunar Systems based in Pittsburgh, PA. This role is hybrid based in Pittsburgh, PA.In this role, the essential functions are:Operate as single point of technical accountability for all electrical systems of a lunar lander.Develop, document, and maintain the technical solution for lunar lander electrical system within project/program constraints and baselines.Delegate technical authority of specific engineering scope to dotted line engineers that report to youMentor and lead small teams of engineers to design complex productsIdentify and characterize risks, issues, and opportunities; and manage execution of approved resolution plans.Define and defend verification and acceptance approachesSupport configuration control and baseline integrityReview and approve supplier technical deliverables and milestone reviewsPresent technical status, definition, and defend assigned scope at formal program reviewsMinimum Qualifications:5+ years of experience in spacecraft electrical systems (Avionics, EPS, RF Comms, Harness)B.S. in Electrical or Computer Engineering or Equivalent Work ExperiencePreferred Qualifications:Systems engineering (SE) experience controlling requirements, risks, and integration flowExperience in developing spacecraft electrical systems for a Class D unmanned spacecraft or similarExperience with power budgeting process and system level energy balance analysisFamiliar with solar photovoltaic and lithium-ion battery technologyFamiliar with RF Communications system performance and link budgetsFamiliar with electronics and circuit analysis and component/LRU design processesMicrosoft Project/JIRA or similar task management and scheduling toolsKnowledge of Range Safety and Ground Safety electronics complianceKnowledge of NASA-STD 4001 and NASA-STD 4003 or similarKnowledge of space environmental tests (TVAC, Shock and Vibe, EMI/EMC)M.S. in Electrical or Computer EngineeringTravel, Physical, and/or Government Mandated Requirements:To conform to U.S. Government export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) (22 CFR Parts 120–130) and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR) (15 CFR Parts 730–774), applicants for this position must be a U.S. Person: a US Citizen, a lawful permanent resident of the U.S., or a protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. § 1324b(a)(3). Applicants must be eligible to obtain any required export authorizations from the U.S. Department of State or the U.S. Department of Commerce.The good faith base salary range for this role is $110,000–$150,000 at the time of this posting. Where you fall within the range depends on your experience, skills, and location. This range reflects base salary only and does not include benefits or bonus/incentive.
