Job Title Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) Location USA - IA - Coralville Compensation Hourly Wage Range: $24.32 - $33.44 Sign‑on Bonus: Up to $5,000 U.S. based employees may be eligible for short‑term incentives and participate in medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan with company match, short‑term and long‑term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a tuition reimbursement program, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, and well‑being benefits. Responsibilities Determine donor eligibility and manage donor adverse events. Review laboratory test results and notify donors of unsuitable test results. Conduct informed consent, AIDS education, medical history interview, and acceptance requirements. Perform physical examinations, blood testing, and review of Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE). Evaluate donor reactions and follow applicable SOPs for medical emergencies, including development of Center Physician's standing orders and donor transport to emergency care facilities. Refer donors to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs when providing unacceptable findings or guidance concerning medical or technical issues. Support the Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees. Manage employee incidents and determine whether further evaluation is required by occupational health/ER. Refer to EHS guidance regarding employee incidents. Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations associated with pandemic threats. Assist with regulations of the plasma collection industry or manufacturing environment. Provide center‑level support of environmental, health and safety (EHS) per BioLife Medical Affairs guidance. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent, or graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements. Currently licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities will be assigned (e.g., EMT‑Paramedic). Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and AED certification. Fulfil state requirements for basic IV therapy. Successful completion of FDA‑approved training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist.
