This role serves as the primary point of contact for customers and coordinates cross-functional activities to ensure projects are executed in accordance with contractual, technical, schedule, and financial requirements. Working under the guidance of Senior Project Managers and department leadership, the Project Manager I supports the successful delivery of pump systems and integrated solutions while developing project management expertise and business knowledge.RESPONSIBILITIES:Review purchase orders, work orders, and proposals to ensure alignment with customer specifications, contractual requirements, and delivery expectations.Verify pump system component selections for compatibility and compliance with overall system performance requirements.Prepare and administer change orders, ensuring scope modifications and contractual requirements are properly documented and communicated.Negotiate and implement customer-requested changes following order placement.Coordinate with external vendors regarding auxiliary equipment procurement and supporting documentation.Resolve issues related to equipment design, quality requirements, and manufacturing readiness prior to production release.Coordinate project schedules and milestone tracking with Engineering, Manufacturing, Materials Management, Purchasing, Quality Control, Finance, Shipping, and Order Management.Manage documentation submittals and support the preparation of final installation, operation, and maintenance manuals.Monitor project financial performance, including invoicing, progress billing, cash flow, budget tracking, profitability analysis, and financial reporting.Coordinate customer inspection visits and ensure compliance with contractual quality requirements.Arrange installation and startup support activities with Technical Services and Service Group personnel.Analyze project variances and support corrective actions to maintain project objectives.Maintain strong customer relationships and serve as the primary customer contact throughout the project lifecycle.Assist in the development and continuous improvement of project management procedures, training materials, and reference documentation.Pursue ongoing professional development related to project management practices and GIW products.Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS:On-time completion and delivery of assigned projects.Achievement of project budget, profitability, and cash flow objectives.Accuracy and timeliness of project documentation and customer deliverables.Customer satisfaction and responsiveness throughout project execution.Successful resolution of project issues with minimal escalation.Compliance with contractual, quality, and safety requirements.QUALIFICATIONS:Education:Bachelor's degree in engineering, Business, or a related field.Project Management coursework, certification, or related professional development.Experience:One (1) to three (3) years of experience in project management, proposals, sales, marketing, applications engineering, operations, manufacturing, or a related field.Experience in an engineering or manufacturing environment.Experience with system integration projects.Familiarity with centrifugal pumps, process pumps, motors, gear reducers, couplings, drive components, and control systems.Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings.SKILLS / COMPETENCIES:Technical SkillsProficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Project, and Adobe Acrobat.Working knowledge of SAP, Microsoft Access, and SQL preferred.Ability to interpret technical specifications, engineering documentation, and manufacturing processes.Strong financial and project scheduling aptitude.Professional CompetenciesExcellent verbal and written communication skills.Strong organizational and time management abilities.Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.Customer-focused mindset with strong relationship-building skills.Ability to prioritize competing responsibilities and meet deadlines.Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.Ability to work independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams.Ability to maintain confidentiality of proprietary information.Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:FrequentlySitting, standing, and walking.Using a computer and standard office equipment.Reading, reviewing, and preparing technical and contractual documentation.Communicating verbally and in writing with customers, vendors, and internal personnel.OccasionallyVisiting manufacturing and production areas.Conducting customer or vendor meetings.Lifting and carrying light office materials.Traveling to customer sites, vendor locations, or manufacturing facilities as required.Travel RequirementsOccasional domestic travel may be required to support project execution, inspections, customer meetings, or manufacturing activities.KSB GIW, Inc. is an equal opportunity employer that is committed to diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
