Building Division Administrative Specialist II

Administrative Assistant
Sarasota County Government is seeking an administrative assistant for the Planning and Development Services department. This role involves providing administrative support for the Building Official's office, including high level customer service, clerical, secretarial, processing, and financial related duties.
The job description includes handling daily workloads, arranging appointments, creating correspondence, coordinating assignments, researching and preparing draft responses, maintaining records, acting as a point of contact, assisting with customer issues, distributing mail, and providing backup assistance.
Work hours are Monday to Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, 2-5 years of administrative and computer experience, and the ability to become a Florida Notary within three months of hire. Preferred qualifications include college coursework in business, related professional certification, and experience with building department and/or construction industry.
Pay is $16.03 – $20.24 based on experience. The position is open until filled.
