About the Facility – Philadelphia VA Medical Center

The Corporal Michael J. Crescenz VA Medical Center provides health care to Veterans living in America's fifth-largest metropolitan area, including the city of Philadelphia and six surrounding counties in Southeastern Pennsylvania and Southern New Jersey. The medical center serves as an acute referral center for VA health care facilities in eastern Pennsylvania, Delaware, and Southern New Jersey. The facility is staffed by approximately 2,000 employees and supports 145 acute care beds and a 135-bed Community Living Center. The medical center focuses on several mission areas: providing health care, conducting medical research, training health care professionals for the future, and being prepared to serve in the event of a crisis or emergency. The Corporal Michael J. Crescenz VA Medical Center has the distinction of being awarded several National Research Centers of Excellence including Parkinson's Disease Research, Education and Clinical Center; Mental Illness Research Education and Clinical Center; Center for Health Equity Research and Promotion; Center of Excellence for Substance Abuse Treatment and Education and Regional Sleep Center. Responsibilities

• Shall be responsible for completing required test(s) and documenting test(s) into electronic medical record.
• Shall call patients from waiting room and take back to the examination room.
• Shall be responsible for providing Vascular Laboratory procedures, including, but not limited to: vascular studies to include but not limited to: Carotid duplex, Aorta duplex, Vein mapping, Venous duplex, Arterial physiology studies, Arterial duplex, Renal/SMA arterial duplex, Arterial Bypass grafts, Dialysis Access grafts, pre-op dialysis access evaluations, venous insufficiency exams and PVR/ABI's.
• Clinical: shall be present on time for any scheduled clinics as documented by physical presence in the clinic at scheduled start time.

Requirements

• Shall have a current certification to practice in any State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States or the District of Columbia.
• All certifications held by the personnel accepting this contract shall be full and unrestricted.
• Shall be certified by ARDMS. All continuing education courses required for maintaining certification must be kept up to date at all times.
• Vascular technologists shall be technically proficient in the skills necessary to fulfill the government's requirements.
• Shall provide the COR copies of current CMEs as required or requested by the VAMC and shall continue to meet the minimum standards for CME to remain current.
