Port Huron Area School District Central Middle School - Port Huron, Michigan Job Details Position: Teacher Building: Central Middle School Starting Date: Aug 25, 2026 Hours: 7.5 hours/day, 183 days Effective: Immediately Allocation: 1.122.xx.xxxx.1241 Position Type: Full-Time Qualifications Valid Michigan teaching certificate. Minimum of a bachelor’s degree; master’s degree preferred. Must be highly qualified in endorsement area. Must meet certification and endorsement requirements for assignment. Must meet all NCA and Michigan Department of Education requirements. Proficiency in the use of technology. Job Responsibilities Plan, prepare, and deliver instructional activities that facilitate active learning experiences. Create and maintain an environment that fosters student achievement and the development of lifelong skills. Maximize opportunities for student success by creating positive working relationships with students. Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment. Show confidence in working with new technology and various application packages. Be a role model for students regarding lifelong learning and professional behavior. Work collaboratively and be willing to learn new skills or revamp curriculum. Be flexible, resourceful, innovative, and effectively manage design and execution of learning experiences. Observe and evaluate student performance and development; encourage and monitor progress of individuals. Assign and grade class work, homework, tests, and assignments and provide appropriate feedback. Perform physical tasks including bending, twisting, stooping, squatting, and lifting up to 50 pounds to assist students. Assume other responsibilities as determined by the supervising administrator. Conduct oneself in a professional manner consistent with the position and project a good public image of the School District.
