Location: Livonia, MI Zip Code: 48150 Duration: 6 Months Pay Rate: $19 - $21/hr. Work Days: M-F Weekends as needed.

This position is offering a pay range of $19 - $21/hr. however, Belcan considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to education, experience, geographic location, and discipline. Job Summary: The Automotive Mechanic I will modify cars and trucks in a prototype environment, performing a wide range of diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance. The Automotive Mechanic I will be mentored and supported by team members on project work and customer interactions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Maintain vehicle functional condition by working off repair orders or leader instructions and conducting inspections.
• Repair mechanical and electrical system malfunctions and replace parts and components.
• Read, interpret, and follow service procedures.
• Maintain vehicle records by entering notes, service, and repair orders.
• Keep shop equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, performing preventive maintenance, calling for repairs.
• Participate in daily shop organization and clean-up.

Education and Experience (required): High school diploma or equivalent. 1-2 years of previous experience required. Mechanical ability and ability to operate shop equipment. MUST have rolling toolbox.

Education and Experience (preferred): Certificate in Automotive Technology or related. National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certification(s). State Mechanic Certification(s). Valid driver's license.
