Crisis Case Manager, HSPRS

Position Overview The International Rescue Committee (IRC) is seeking a Crisis Case Manager (Level3) for the Home Study and Post‑Release Services (HS/PRS) program for unaccompanied children. This short‑term national role (anticipated end date September30,2026) is not eligible for benefits and requires availability for travel and evening/weekend work. Responsibilities Major responsibilities include: Conducting in‑home assessments with child and sponsor and weekly in‑person contacts for the first 45‑60 days; then remote with monthly visits as needed. Developing individualized, trauma‑informed service plans that address needs through financial, medical, social, vocational, and other resources. Documenting findings in comprehensive reports within 10days of referral. Continuously assessing changes in behavior and conditions that impact safety, wellbeing, and success of children. Providing crisis intervention support, involving Child Protective Services, law enforcement, and other stakeholders when necessary. Serving in lead role on cases with suicidal, safety, or trafficking concerns, or supporting Level2 Case Managers when a minor is not in crisis. Providing referrals and connections to: Legal services; Education and English language classes; Medical care and behavioral health; Placement stability and safety services; Assistance with immigration and guardianship proceedings; Family stabilization/counseling; Substance abuse treatment; Gang prevention services; Youth programming (mentoring, tutoring, after‑school, vocation, sports clubs, or other extracurricular clubs); Services related to various global environments and contexts; Integration and independence support as appropriate. Maintain accurate records in electronic case files, submit required reports in a timely manner, and use a child‑centered, developmentally appropriate, and trauma‑informed approach. Ensure confidentiality of children and their cases, and uphold mandatory reporting obligations. Qualifications Master’s degree in social work, psychology, or a related behavioral science field with direct clinical experience. Fluency in Spanish and English (written and verbal). Minimum two years of case‑management experience, including intakes, assessments, service‑plan development, and documentation. Minimum one year of experience working with children, family reunification, kinship care, foster care, child welfare, or related child protection work. Proven ability to manage complex client situations centered on client safety and child‑protection principles. Experience with immigrant populations and, ideally, with unaccompanied minors in the post‑release services field. Knowledge of local community social services and ability to navigate the social service system. Demonstrated success working effectively in various global environments and contexts. Ability to travel up to 80% of the time, up to 500 miles, and to work evenings and weekends. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), Teams, Zoom, and related platforms. Clearance by the Office of Refugee Resettlement and background check (FBI fingerprints and child‑abuse and neglect checks) upon hire. Compensation Salary range: $28.97 – $35.11 per hour (US‑based candidates). Exact offers are calibrated by location, candidate experience, and skills relative to the defined job requirements.
