Fleet Safety Manager

Role Description The Fleet Safety Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Palm City, FL, responsible for overseeing safety programs and compliance for the company’s transportation operations. This role includes developing, implementing, and updating fleet safety policies and procedures in alignment with federal, state, and local regulations, including DOT and FMCSA requirements. The Fleet Safety Manager monitors driver performance, conducts safety audits, and leads incident investigations, ensuring accurate documentation and timely corrective actions. Day-to-day tasks involve coordinating safety training, coaching drivers and staff on best practices, analyzing safety metrics, and collaborating with operations, maintenance, and management to reduce risk and improve overall fleet safety. The role also requires regular review of equipment conditions, participation in safety committees, and proactive identification of opportunities to enhance safety culture across the organization. Qualifications Strong knowledge of transportation safety regulations, including DOT and FMCSA compliance, and experience applying these standards in a fleet or logistics environment. Background in safety program development, risk assessment, incident investigation, and implementation of corrective action plans. Experience delivering safety training, coaching drivers and staff, and promoting a positive safety culture within operations teams. Proficiency in using safety and fleet management tools, maintaining accurate records, and analyzing data to monitor trends and performance. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments. Prior experience in trucking, logistics, or transportation safety management; refrigerated or perishable freight experience is a plus. High school diploma required; associate or bachelor's degree in safety, transportation, logistics, or a related field is preferred.
