We are a privately owned and operated country club nestled inside Preston, a premier residential community located in the heart of Cary, NC. We have 15 tennis courts: 9 on property + 6 in Cary Parkway Facility. Position Summary The tennis professional is responsible for carrying out all aspects of the tennis and pickle ball program. The tennis professional supervises all tennis and pickle ball play, provides competent instruction for all individuals and groups, and promotes tennis and pickle ball participation through club events, clinics, and team matches. The tennis professional represents the club in professional tennis and pickle ball activities on the local, state, or national levels as time permits. Stimulating the growth of the tennis and pickle ball program is a priority for the tennis professional. Principal Job Responsibilities Supervise all tennis and pickle ball play by greeting and assisting members, guests and visitors as they arrive or depart; taking court reservations by members over the phone or in person. Control play, keep court times on schedule and verify that all players have checked in and registered their guests. Provide private and group tennis and pickle ball instruction to members. Assist in all aspects of running the tennis shop by performing the duties of the tennis shop attendant as specified by the Director of Tennis Operations. Assist in maintaining the tennis and pickle ball courts and facilities, including daily inspection and keeping the courts neat and clean at all times. Maintain and repair equipment necessary for the upkeep of the tennis courts and facilities. Develop, organize and run junior tennis leagues. Assist in planning, organizing and running all adult and junior events, socials and round robins. String and regrip tennis racquets; customize racquets per player’s needs and instructions. Attend weekly tennis staff meetings to discuss communication, planning, and implementation of the tennis program. Stay current in the tennis industry by attending yearly association workshops. Job Specifications Competitive salary of $18 per hour plus commissions. Ability to work as part of a team. Member of a recognized professional tennis association. Strong customer service skills.
