Job Title: Nursing Director – Behavioral Health

Location: West Palm Beach, Florida
Position Type: Permanent | Full-Time
Shift: Days (No Weekends)
Compensation: $38.50 – $57.00/hour (based on years of experience)

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Nursing Director – Behavioral Health to lead and oversee the daily operations of a Behavioral Health department within an acute care setting. This leadership role is responsible for ensuring high-quality patient care, operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and achievement of departmental goals.

The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical leadership skills, experience managing behavioral health teams, and the ability to drive quality outcomes while fostering a collaborative and patient-focused environment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the Behavioral Health department
• Lead quality improvement initiatives and enhance patient satisfaction outcomes
• Manage departmental budgets, staffing productivity, and resource utilization
• Supervise, mentor, and evaluate nursing and support staff performance
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, accreditation standards, and regulatory requirements
• Plan, organize, and direct patient care services for behavioral health patients
• Collaborate with physicians, nursing leadership, and interdisciplinary teams
• Act as a liaison between patients, families, staff, and leadership teams
• Support operational efficiency while maintaining high standards of patient care
• Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement

Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) required
• Master’s Degree required within 6 months of hire
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
• Fingerprint clearance required

Experience

• Minimum of five (5) years of Director-level Behavioral Health experience
  OR
• Experienced Behavioral Health Manager with 5+ years in a current acute care setting

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong leadership and team management skills
• Experience in acute care behavioral health environments
• Knowledge of regulatory and accreditation standards
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced healthcare setting
