Registered Nurse – Intermediate Care (IMC/PCU/Stepdown)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 13 Weeks | Full-Time | Onsite | Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM, 12-hour shifts) | 48 Guaranteed Hours Per Week | Every other weekend and every other holiday required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in an 8-bed observation/intermediate care unit with a 1:4 patient ratio
• Manage patients presenting with conditions including anemia, cellulitis, COPD, dehydration, and pre/post-op urology and GI cases
• Administer and monitor cardiac and other drips including Cardizem, Nitroglycerin, Insulin, and Heparin
• Read and interpret cardiac rhythm strips; complete an EKG competency exam during compliance onboarding
• Float to all inpatient units as needed, including IMC and CTU units
• Manage a high volume of admissions and discharges with an average patient stay of up to 48 hours

Required Qualifications

• Active Wisconsin Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC)
• Current ACLS certification (AHA or ARC)
• Minimum of 3 years of RN experience
• At least 1 prior travel nursing assignment required
• Proficiency with Epic EMR required

Preferred Experience / Skills

• NIHSS certification highly preferred
• Background in observation, medical-surgical, or telemetry units
• Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage tasks efficiently, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams
• Adaptability and positive attitude in a fast-paced environment with frequent changes
